Frequently Asked Questions

Find answers to common questions about our air-dry clay kits.

How long does the clay take to dry?

Drying time depends on the thickness of your piece and the humidity of the room. Most creations will be fully hardened in 24-48 hours. We recommend letting them air dry in a well-ventilated spot away from direct sunlight.

Is the clay safe for kids and pets?

Yes! Our air-dry clay is non-toxic and conforms to safety standards, making it perfectly safe for kids. However, the kits contain small tools, so adult supervision is recommended for young children. The clay is not intended for consumption by pets or people.

Can I make my creations waterproof?

By itself, air-dry clay is not waterproof. To make your piece water-resistant (for example, a planter or vase), you must seal it after the included paint has fully dried. We recommend using a water-based varnish or sealant, like Mod Podge, which can be found at most craft stores.

What if my clay feels a little dry when I open it?

No problem! Our clay is water-based. Simply add a few drops of water to the clay and knead it thoroughly. This will restore its soft, pliable texture. Be careful not to add too much water at once!
